The Process

One of the first steps in preparing steel for welding and metal fabrication is cutting, usually by sawing, shearing, or laser or plasma cutting. At Wisconsin Metal Fab, LLC, we utilize band saws, CNC shears, and precision laser and plasma cutting tables. The material then must be formed, often using press brakes or rollers. Programming software makes both the cutting and bending of these materials neat and clear-cut, and offers greater accuracy and repeatability. Through welding, riveting and hardware, the fine-cut pieces are combined into an assembly, often referred to as a weldment.
